2019 FMS  Renegade V8 / Crate sportsman Division Rules

1. BODY - Any full/midsize American made car or truck. No jeeps, 4x4’s, will be allowed to run. WHEELBASE min. is 101'' with a 1'' tolerance. 6'' REAR SPOILERS OK, Doors, fenders and quarter panels may be fabricated of steel or aluminum, but must be stock appearing. Must have steel OEM roof (or stock appearing) Floor pan’s must be in stock location on driver’s side... Trunk pans may be cut out. Firewall can be stock or made out of
aluminum/steel. Front inner fender wells may be removed. Fender wells may be cut for tire clearance.

 

2. CHASSIS - (NO JOHNSON style chassis) Uni-bodies may be tied together. Hulling is legal. Must have a full roll cage constructed of a min. 1 1/2'' tubing. May replace rear frame rails with tubing...New frame rails may not extend any further forward than front leaf spring or trailing arm mount. May fabricate front leaf spring mount with one spring mounting hole only.
 

3. SUSPENSION - Must be in the stock location. May run racing springs. No Chrysler rear leaf springs on GM chassis. Front springs may be changed and adjustable buckets ok. Spring shackles ok. Upper A-frame may be cut for caster. Non-adjustable tubular upper A-arms ok. FRONT Shocks must be in the stock location. REAR shocks may be relocated. Any non-adjustable steel body shock.
 

4. Fuel cell, Safety belts, harness and fire extinguisher mandatory. Must be track approved.
 

5. FUEL – Any Racing fuel ok.
 

6. WEIGHT - 3200 lbs.SEALED crate 602 -3100lbs (see intake manifold rules)
 

7. TRANSMISSION - Factory OEM manual or automatic ok. NO Bert, Brinn, Jericho or direct drives. Automatics must have a working torque converter. FLYWHEEL must weigh 14 lbs. min. CLUTCH-stock type pressure plate and clutch disc of 10 1/2'' min. Steel scatter shield mandatory with manual transmission, may be fabricated from 3/16''steel and track approved. Factory slave hydraulic release cylinder ok. After market hyd release bearing allowed
 

8. REAR END - Posi-track, limited slip, or locked rear ends ok. Mini-spool ok. 9” Ford in all cars ok for safety.  Aftermarket axles ok.
 

9. BRAKES - 4 wheel working brakes mandatory.  May run brake adjusters inside car
(3-wheel brake shut off allowed)

 

10. TIRES – (must punch 42 or harder at all times)
                     1. American Racer or Hoosier Medium Hard, Mod 2, Mod 3

                    2. Hoosier M500, H500, G60

                    3.Towell City recaps

                    4. No grooving, siping, soaking or needling allowed

11. WHEELS - Steel only, 8'' wide max. Bead locks OK. Large wheel studs recommended. NO WIDE FIVE HUBS/WHEELS
 

12. DRIVE SHAFT - Must be painted white with car # on it. Must have a safety loop 8”-12” to rear of transmission where drive shaft inserts into transmission.
 

13. Engine location is #1 spark plug with upper ball joint, left front for chevy, right front for ford.
 

14. Carburetor
      1. Any Quadrajet
      2. Any 2-barrel carburetor with 1-inch spacer/adaptor
     3. Holley # 1850 may only remove choke flap and rejet
     4. Holley # 4776 may only remove choke flap and rejet
     5. Holley # 4777 may only remove choke flap and rejet

 

15. May run SECA 602 Crate Sportsman cars at 3100lbs Sealed 3200lbs unsealed(100% seca rules except NO JOHNSON style chassis allowed) .(engines,suspension seca allowed)


Chevrolet Engine Rules
1. Block any stock production 350 cubic inch

 

2. Crankshaft any stock or stock type replacement weighing at least 50 lbs. May balance, no lightweight or knife edging. 3.48 Stroke only
 

3. Rods any stock steel 5.7 length, 2.1 journal or stock replacement type steel 5.7 length, 2.1 journal, no lightweight or H beam, may float piston pins, may change rod bolts
 

4. Pistons any 4 valve relief stock replacement type. Piston/Rod assembly must weigh at least 1200 grams with rings and bearings installed
 

5. Heads must be factory cast iron straight plug 70 cc min combustion chamber, no modifications to ports of combustion chamber allowed, 3 angle valve /competition valve job, No high performance heads allowed. May run World Products #43600
 

6. Valve springs any 1.265 diameter with steel retainer, stock diameter beehive springs allowed (ADD 25lbs)

7. Valves 1.94 diameter steel intake valve. 1.5 diameter steel exhaust valve. 11/32 valve stems
 

8. Camshaft any hydraulic flat tappet camshaft with 0.425 lift checked at valve with zero lash. Lifter any hydraulic lifter with a diameter of 0.842 only
 

9. Rocker Arms any stud mounted rocker arm, may run poly locks
 

10. Balancer any
 

11. Fuel pump any mechanical, no electric fuel pumps
 

12. Intake Manifold no porting or polishing of any kind, may run one of the following
1. Factory cast iron may deduct 100 lbs.
2. Edelbrock Performer 2101 with ANY 1-inch spacer
3. Edelbrock Performer 7101
4. Edelbrock Torker II 5001 must add 100 lbs.

 

13. Ignition may run stock type HEI ignition only, no msd boxes
 

14. May run 602 crate engine at 3100lbs.


602 crate engine protest (motor rules are 100% same  as SECA crate sportsman rules)
1. Complete engine teardown: $1000 ($200 acceptance fee) - Engine will be impounded and checked by certified builder.  $200 to the builder, $200 to the track $800 to the winner of the protest.

 

2. Non-Sealed (engines that have been unsealed, not resealed by certified builder) $700        ($300 acceptance fee)- Engine will be impounded and checked by a certified builder. ($200 to builder- $200 to the track $600 to winner of the protest).


Ford Engine Rules
1. Block any stock production 302 or 351 Windsor

 

2. Crankshaft any stock or stock type replacement weighing at least 40 lbs. for 302, 3.0 Stroke. 50 lbs. for 351, 3.5 Stroke, no lightweight or knife edging
 

3. Rods any stock steel 5.956 length for 351/5.090 length for 302, or stock replacement type steel 5.956 length for 351/ 5.090 length for 302, no lightweight or H beam, may float piston pins, may change rod bolts.
 

4. Pistons any 4 valve relief stock replacement type. Piston/Rod assembly must weigh at least 1200 grams with rings and bearings installed.
 

5. Heads must be factory cast iron 60 cc min combustion chamber, no modifications to ports of combustion chamber allowed, 3 angle valve job only. No high performance heads allowed.
 

6. Valve springs any 1.265 diameter with steel retainer, no conical or beehive springs allowed.
 

7. Valves 1.84 diameter steel intake valve. 1.55 diameter steel exhaust valve. 11/32 valve stems
 

8. Camshaft any hydraulic flat tappet camshaft with 0.450 lift checked at valve with zero lash. Lifter any hydraulic lifter with a diameter of 0.875 only

9. Rocker Arms any stud mounted rocker arm, may run poly locks

 

10. Balancer any
 

11. Fuel pump any mechanical, no electric fuel pumps
 

12. Intake Manifold no porting or polishing of any kind, may run one of the following
1. Factory cast iron may deduct 100 lbs.
2. Edelbrock 2121 or 3721 with ANY 1-inch spacer
3. Edelbrock 7121 or 7181

13. Ignition Stock type distributor with module or separate factory style ignition box
